How do you choose
the right photographer for your wedding?
So, how do you go about finding the right wedding photographer for you? Here are 3 key pointers to help you make the perfect connection.
- Search the web for local photographers and spend some time looking at their portfolios and find a stye that you like. Once you have hit on 2 or 3 that appeal to you, request to view a complete wedding day gallery, it’s easy to take one or two headline images of a big day, even on your phone, but take a look at a complete gallery to see the consistency and beautiful images throughout the day from bridal preparation to last dance.
- Make contact with 2 or 3 photographers from your wish list and have either a chat on the phone, Zoom call or even better meet face to face. You will spend a lot of time with your photographer on the day and will look to them for reassurance and timekeeping throughout the day. When you look back on you wedding album if your photographer got on your nerves or took you away from your guests and celebration for too long, you will remember that too!
- Before you make the big decision book an engagement shoot, lots of photographers will offer this and deduct the cost from a wedding package if you book with them. So why not try before you buy? This is also a great way of getting used to being in front of the camera, especially grooms who frequently comment to me that they felt better and more confident on their big day after the engagement shoot.
